Project Opportunities
Equitable climate action projects start as ideas then evolve into opportunities before they are developed and implemented as projects. Below is a list of TCAP Opportunity Projects that the collaborative has identified as helpful in moving our region toward equitable net-zero carbon by 2030.
If you would like to suggest an idea or opportunity please use the below form and we will get back to you.
At recent growth rates there will be 3,500 electric vehicles (EVs) registered in Teton County by 2030 and even more passing through as EV range and highway charging infrastructure increases.
Heat pumps could cut energy usage for space and water heating by 40-60%. In the case of a natural gas retrofit, this represents a significant emissions savings (3.8 tons of CO2e per year for the typical natural gas household).
The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) and Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) each provide assistance for net zero carbon actions.
A Pay As You Throw (PAYT) program, also known as unit pricing, charges residents and businesses for waste collection based on the amount thrown away - offering a direct financial incentive to reduce landfill waste.
The purpose of this project is to get more people from a greater variety of backgrounds onto E-Bikes. A midsummer drive from the hospital to high school takes x minutes (Jackson/Teton County Indicator Report) and emits y lbs of CO2.
Electric bicycles, E-bikes, decrease emissions, increase mobility for populations that cannot drive, and shorten travel times when traffic is congested.
The Aluminum Recycling Promotion Project would both promote the use of aluminum over glass and plastic and encourage the recycling of that aluminum locally.
